Rachel Scrivin

Hi, I am a New Zealand Registered Dietitian (NZRD) and Advanced Sports Dietitian, accredited with Sports Dietitians Australia.  I have over 27 years’ experience working with high performance athletes, weekend warriors, and people wanting reliable, evidence based nutrition information.  I have worked as a senior clinical dietitian in several New Zealand and London hospitals, as a contractor for ACC, and recently for nearly 6 years, as the Head of Nutrition and Dietetics for the UAE armed forces (Abu Dhabi). Currently, I am working on my PhD with a research focus on FODMAPs as a dietary prescription for exercise-induced gastrointestinal syndrome.

I have been a fitness instructor for over 28 years in addition to being a competitive squash player for most of my life, so I understand how the correct nutrition and hydration will fuel your body to enhance your performance.

What is your body composition?

Your body composition is established through accurate skinfold caliper, and girth measurements. Body weight is also taken, but this alone does not determine your body fat or lean body mass percentages. When you start to change your eating and exercise regimen, you may notice changes in your body.

Through regular body composition testing you can be assured of where specifically you are making gains or losses. This is extremely motivating and encouraging for most clients who train regularly, or want to be healthier.
